Old Country Club

The Old Country Club section of Ridgewood, NJ lies in the southwest corner of Ridgewood. The area is defined by Godwin Avenue to the north, Lincoln Avenue to the east, Rock Road in the south and Goffle Road to the west.

The neighborhood was the site of a country club in the early 1900′s – hence the name.

The elementary schools serving this part of the Village are Ridge and Orchard. George Washington is the nearest Middle School.

The Old Country Club section has arguably the highest density of homes valued over $1 million in Ridgewood. Many homes here were built in the 1940′s and 1950′s – although an occasional new construction home can be found. Noted local architect Carl Kemm Loven designed several homes in this neighborhood – see one example above. He’s particularly known for his Storybook Tudor style.
